(Photo Agency) Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens may have recently downgraded their relationship status from "boyfriend/girlfriend" to "just friends," but Hudgens insists they really do remain a part of each others' lives.

"After being in a relationship with someone that long, you stay friends," Vanessa insisted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

As for those rumors that Vanessa is romancing her Journey 2: The Mysterious Island co-star Josh Hutcherson, Hudgens insisted, "I'm single. Can't a girl have friends? Aww, I love him. We just did a movie together and we had the best time."
